Ed Tuttle My passion is deeply rooted in the conviction that I must first be a father and then an artist. Perhaps that is why I am finding so much satisfaction as I expand the teaching and training efforts of the business. I truly believe I have been given this talent and years of experience for others, not myself. As the head of my family and principal of eklektos, my heart is to integrate life, art, and business to me there is no separation. For years, I pursued a dream to begin a graphic studio at home. After receiving invaluable experience for 16 years as the senior designer at Union Carbide, I stepped out of my position and began to see that dream become a reality. There has not been a dull moment since. When involved in the creative process, either teaching or in the studio, I feel like Im doing something I was made for. I easily get lost in the work. There is such a thrill when all the elements begin to come together when what was in your head begins to actually take shape. When a project is completed I get just a faint glimpse of how God must have felt at the end of each day of creation when He looked at what He had made and said it was good. With the constant encouragement of my mother and her influence as a painter, I began my journey as an artist. She saved this drawing I did when I was 3, sitting on our front porch copying a Golden Book image. Over the years, the work has gone through many transitions: pencil, pastel, charcoal, photography, computer graphics, 3D imagery, and even animation. I love taking ideas and concepts and turning them into a thing of beauty. There is such satisfaction in taking an idea and bringing it to life
creation. |
